2023 MRBA ART CONTEST 
"Celebrating The Missisquoi Watershed"

The Missisquoi River Basin Association announces our 2023 art contest: Celebrating The Missisquoi Watershed.  All Vermont artists are invited to enter.   This year’s theme is: what the river means to you, or the community and the importance of water quality, stream-side tree plantings, and a healthy watershed.   All experience levels and artistic disciplines/ media are accepted; including but not limited to: drawing, painting, sculpture, photography, mixed-media, fiber art, etc. Prizes will be awarded to 1st place in each entry group. The top three in each entry group will be offered the opportunity to showcase their art at the March 19th MRBA open house event. All entries will be judged on interpretation of theme, originality, creativity, and artistic skill demonstrated. Winners in each category will be chosen  by a team of judges.

Theme:  What the river means to you or the community and/or the importance of water quality, stream-side tree plantings, and a healthy watershed.

Artist Eligibility

- Live in Vermont.

- Art must be completed within the past two years.

- Artwork must be original.

-Art must be related to contest theme.

-Open to all experience levels of artist. 

-Multiple submission per artist will be accepted, (up to 5 per artist).

Prizes

 Items will be judged on interpretation of theme, originality, creativity, and artistic skill demonstrated. Winners in each category will be chosen based on the criteria and selected by a team of judges.   Prizes will be awarded to the 1st place entry in each entry group. The top three in each entry group will be offered the opportunity to showcase their entry at the March 19th MRBA open house event . In addition, all 1st place winners will receive recognition on MRBA  social media and our website.

Art Discipline/ Media

The contest is open to all art disciplines/ art media; including but not limited to: drawing, painting, photography, sculpture, mixed media, fiber art, etc.

How to Enter

- Review guidelines and rules

- Design your art 

- Submit your art by March 10th, 2023 by either:  1) posting a picture of your art to the MRBA social media (facebook and Instagram); using #ARTMRBA23  include your name and entry group, or 2) email a picture of your entry with your name and entry group to: corrina@mrbavt.com

Entry Groups

Entry Group One:

School age- grades 1-3

  

Entry Group Two:

School age- grades 4-6

 

Entry Group Three:

School age- grades 8-12

 

Entry Group Four: Adult

By entering, you agree that a picture of your artwork can be used by the MRBA on our website, social media and or marketing material, with proper rights given to the artist.
